Hall of Fame
Any member of the Chicagoland USBC Association may submit nominations, along with the nominee’s qualifications and achievements to the Association Manager for referral to the Hall of Fame Committee by June 1st.
Nominees for any year who are not currently under suspension, or have even been suspended by the USBC or it’s prior entities, will be presented to the Chicagoland USBC Board of Directors before the meeting of the Hall of Fame at which time nominees will be approved by a majority of votes cast
Meritorious Service
A candidate must have been a member of Chicagoland USBC and rendered outstanding service for the promotion of certified bowling at the city, state, or national level either by:
Local, State, National Office Held
Local, State, National Committees
Other Bowling Organizations such as AWBA, Bowling Writers, BPAA, CBPA, and/or PBA/PWBA
Meritorious Service In Memoriam is awarded posthumously to any bowler meeting the above qualifications. Special consideration is given if the candidate was inducted into the State and/or National Hall of Fame.
Superior Performance
A candidate must have been a member of Chicagoland USBC for a minimum of 10 years and be at least 35 years of age by June 1st of the current bowling season.
Consideration will be given for Championship Scratch Titles as follows:
Chicago
Illinois State
National Titles
Honor Scores
Sportsmanship conduct portrayed as specified by USBC Playing Rules
Elected to National and/or State Hall of Fame for Superior Performance
Superior Performance In Memoriam is awarded posthumously to any bowler meeting the above qualifications. Special consideration is given if the candidate was inducted into the State and/or National Hall of Fame.
Patricia M. Harte “Love of Bowling”
Candidate must perpetuate their love of bowling through:
Volunteer efforts, supporting the sport of bowling in its entirety
Unselfish dedication to the promotion of bowling
Consistent demonstration of good sportsmanship
Bowler of the Year
Consideration will be given based on the following:
Highest Composite Average - must have bowled in at least two (2) Chicagoland USBC member bowling centers with no fewer than 140 games total
Championship Scratch Titles (Local, State, or National)
800 Honor Scores
300 Honor Scores
Youth Awards
Star of Tomorrow nominations must be received by June 1 for consideration in that year.
Star of Tomorrow
The Chicagoland USBC Youth Committee offers scholarships each year to reward outstanding youth bowlers, provided they meet the eligibility requirements. Candidate must:
Be a national USBC and Chicagoland USBC member
Be an amateur as defined by the USBC
Not have bowled for money or merchandise in accordance with USBC eligibility rule, 400
Be under the age of 20 as of August 1st.
Scholarships are awarded in the form of SMART money. At least two scholarships are awarded to one male bowler and one female bowler. Award will be deposited in the bowler’s SMART fund, and can be redeemed through the SMART scholarship fund. Judging is based equally on scholastic ability, community involvement, and bowling accomplishments. Awards are non-renewable.
